Short answer: Bandra Reclamation sits at the Bandra end of the Bandra–Worli Sea Link. Since 2024 the Mumbai Coastal Road has been connected to the Sea Link, so traffic from South Mumbai can run along the sea-front corridor to Bandra without using the older inner roads. To the north, the Versova–Bandra Sea Link is under construction and is planned to land on the Bandra side; its revised completion target has been reported as May 2028. For a home at Bandra Reclamation, this makes the sea-front road corridor the key piece of infrastructure to understand.
This Bandra Reclamation coastal road guide explains what is already open, what is still being built, and how each project matters to someone buying at Bandra Bay. The Bandra–Worli Sea Link: the base of the corridor
The Bandra–Worli Sea Link is the reason Bandra Reclamation is so well placed. The bridge starts at the Bandra end, beside the reclaimed land, and crosses the bay to Worli. Adani Bandra Reclamation is planned right next to it, which is why the project describes its connectivity as direct access to the Sea Link.
For residents, the Sea Link turns the southward trip into a sea crossing instead of a run through Mahim and Dadar. It also gives the area its skyline: the cable-stayed towers are the view most homes at Bandra Bay are designed around. Our guide to Bandra–Worli Sea Link access covers this in more detail.
The Mumbai Coastal Road and the Sea Link connector
The southern section of the Mumbai Coastal Road runs along the western sea-front from the Marine Drive end to Worli. It opened in phases during 2024. In September 2024 a connector bridge opened that lets northbound traffic on the Coastal Road move straight onto the Bandra–Worli Sea Link, and the link in the opposite direction followed in early 2025.
What this changes for Bandra Reclamation
- A continuous sea-front road from South Mumbai to the Bandra end of the Sea Link, landing next to Bandra Reclamation.
- Less dependence on the inner-city roads through Worli and Prabhadevi for trips to Nariman Point, Marine Drive and the Fort area.
- A second high-capacity corridor alongside the existing routes, which makes daily travel more predictable.
We do not publish travel times. Actual journeys depend on the time of day, toll queues and traffic on the approach roads, so test your own routes at the hours you would usually travel.
The Versova–Bandra Sea Link: the northern extension
The Versova–Bandra Sea Link is a planned sea bridge running north along the coast from Bandra towards Juhu and Versova, with a connector on the Bandra side near the existing Sea Link. When it is complete, the sea-front corridor will extend from South Mumbai through Bandra to the western suburbs.
Recent reports put the project behind its original schedule. A state cabinet sub-committee cleared a revised cost, and the completion target has been reported as May 2028. Treat any date as a target rather than a promise, and do not pay a premium for any home only because of infrastructure that is still being built.
What it could mean for residents
- Another route to Juhu and the western suburbs that avoids the Western Express Highway and S.V. Road.
- More traffic around the Bandra landing during construction and in the early years of operation.
- Better links between Bandra Reclamation and the northern suburbs once the full corridor opens.
Changes around Bandra Reclamation itself
Bandra Reclamation is a reclaimed sea-front area of Bandra West with a promenade along the water. The neighbourhood has seen several public works in recent years:
- Promenade works: parts of the Bandra Reclamation promenade were barricaded for construction and beautification work, which the authorities described as temporary.
- Proposed marina: in October 2025 a state minister announced plans for a marina at Bandra Reclamation. No construction timeline has been confirmed.
- The Adani Realty land parcel: the 24-acre* parcel at Bandra Reclamation, offered for development by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), is where Adani Bandra Reclamation is planned. Our article on the Adani Bandra Reclamation project, MSRDC and BMC explains the background.
How infrastructure affects a home at Bandra Reclamation
Daily commutes
The project lists connectivity to the Bandra–Worli Sea Link, Bandra and Khar Road railway stations, the Western Express Highway, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai International Airport, Juhu and South Mumbai. The Coastal Road adds a sea-front route to the south. If you work in BKC, see Bandra West and BKC; for a full connectivity overview, read our Bandra Reclamation location guide.
Living next to a busy corridor
Good access comes with traffic. A home beside a major road corridor should be checked for noise, glazing quality, which side of the building faces the road and how the entry gates handle peak-hour traffic. These are fair questions to ask once floor plans and the site layout are shared.
Construction years
Large infrastructure works can bring years of barricades, diversions and dust. With the Versova–Bandra Sea Link still being built, plan for some disruption around the Bandra landing before it opens.
Value and pricing
Infrastructure can support demand for a location over time, but no one can promise a price effect. Judge a home on what exists today – the sea-front, the Sea Link, the neighbourhood – and treat future projects as a possible bonus. Our Adani Bandra Reclamation investment guide covers the other factors to weigh.
What to verify before you rely on any road project
- The current status on the official website or press releases of the authority running the project.
- Whether a project is open in both directions, and at what hours.
- Toll charges and how they change your monthly cost of travel.
- How traffic enters and leaves the project site, once the site plan is shared.
- The latest MahaRERA registration status of Adani Bandra Reclamation, using our step-by-step MahaRERA check.
